Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and organised Payroll Assistant to work as part of a small team in Woking, UK to deliver accurate data to our outsourced payroll provider.  In this role you will be working closely with the Payroll Manager and wider HR team to ensure employees in our business are paid accurately and on time. This role involves data entry, record maintenance, verification of timekeeping information, and assisting with payroll processing cycles. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information. 

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation.

  • Review and verify timecards, attendance records, and approved overtime.

  • Assist with processing monthly payroll runs in several UK entities as well as some smaller European entities.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and wage laws.

  • Respond to employee enquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll procedures.

  • Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditing purposes.

  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and collaborate with HR or supervisors to resolve issues.

  • Support year‑end processes.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.

  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Who are You?

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.

  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, ) is a plus.

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work with sensitive information.

  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Systems Confidence: Comfort using Payroll systems, databases, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Willingness to work closely with HR, payroll colleagues and other business stakeholders
