Who are we looking for?

The Procurement Manager, is the site lead in executing the local, site specific purchase strategy. The role leads and works with site management personnel as well as other stakeholders to implement purchase projects and identify and drive other savings projects. The role manages purchase of goods, materials, and services to ensure site operational needs, taking into accocunt purchase strategies, price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.  Manage the supplier relationships and interface between internal departments, suppliers, and resolve elevated sourcing issues. This includes providing assistance to Supplier Qualty Manager to improve supplier quality.  The role provids leadership to resolve elevated sourcing issues. This role reports to a Global Director Procurement MAES, and works in close coordination with other stakeholders in the region as well as Regional Sourcing Managers across the MAES Global Supply Chain.

What will you be doing?

Execution of the MAES Procurement Strategy at the Site Level:

  • Source goods, materials, components, or services for the site in line with specified sourcing strategy, cost, quality and delivery targets; assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports upon request.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies and ideas and strategies for improvements to operational efficiency, add value, aid in business performance and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Power user for Esker system for processing of non-Inventory items, services, etc. Primary contact for the site on non-inventory purchasing.
     

Supply Base Management:

  • Proactively scan the local market place for spend consolidation opportunities and initiate first level engagement with potential local suppliers.
  • Drive and proactively maintain strategic partnership development with new and existing critical suppliers and tollers.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities which optimize costs at the site level, and drive projects in coordination with supervisor and sourcing managers.
  • Ensure that contracts with vendors are actively managed in terms of commitment to terms, pricing, rebates, quantities, etc. including the negotiation of supply agreements, encompassing commercial terms and conditions (T&Cs); must assure contract periods are tracked and maintained.
  • Lead negotiations for local contracts, prices and terms of business with local suppliers .
  • Participate in regional contract negotiations, providing site specific input.
  • Review supplier performance report tracking key metrics such as quality, delivery timelines, pricing consistency, and compliance with agreed terms. Provide clear feedback to stakeholders and suppliers to ensure alignment with business objectives, identify areas for improvement, and foster continuous improvement in supplier relationships.
  • Engage with suppliers to resolve elevated supply or quality issues, including assisting in resolving Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR)

Who are You?

  •  
  • Possess strong Chemical purchasing experience of 5-7 years, preferably in a multi-national manufacturing setting.
  • Possess a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields.
  • Business analysis and presentation skills required, market and economic analysis skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in establishing and maintaining influential relationships with suppliers.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter, and proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Fluency – verbal and written in English is mandatory, multiple languages a plus.
  • Experience with SalesForce SRM, PowerBi, Team Guru, Esker, SAP and/or JDE a plus.
