Who are we looking for?

  • Single point of contact for the Business Unit 
  • Main interface for Regulatory Team to interact with the Business Unit
  • Drives Business Unit specific regulatory projects and issues
  • Responsible for conveying and disseminating complex regulatory requirements to the Business Unit 
  • Develops and implements compliance strategies
  • Maintains stewardship of the Business Unit's compliance status and needs
  • Recognizes Business Units plans and prioritizations
  • Plugged into various Businsess Units processes to provide immediate Regulatory inputs
  • Involves directly in Business Unit R&D projects
  • Consolidate inputs from Regulatory Team to advise Business Units
  • Collect Business Unit information for Regulatory Team to perform compliance actions

 

What will you be doing?

  • Coordinate efforts from both Business Units and Regulatory team to perform Regulatory assessment and impact analysis on products
  • Maintains stewardship of Business Unit’s compliance status and needs
  • Regulatory Intelligence and Surveillance
    • Monitor and stay up to date on upcoming regulatory updates and risks
    • Drives surveillance for Business Unit specific end use regulations
    • Perform Business Unit specific detailed impact assessment and convey regulatory requirements to BU 
    • Help develop and implement compliance strategies
    • Drives compliance actions and follow ups
  • Drives Business Unit specific regulatory registrations projects and reporting activities
    • Identify Business Unit stakeholders and Regulatory resources and coordinate the activities to completion
  • Drives Business Unit specific regulatory projects and issues
    • Identify Business Unit stakeholders and Regulatory resources and coordinate the activities to completion
  • Involve in facilitating completion of complex Regulatory questions from customers
  • Outreach and advocacy
    • Drives Business Unit specific outreach and advocacy efforts

Who are You?

  • 5-7 years of experience in the Chemical Industry
  • 2-3 years of experience in working with global chemical
  • Degree in Chemistry preferred

What competencies will you need?

Knowledge of chemical regulations

This role requires a good knowledge of chemical regulations in the globally such as US TSCA, SNUR, GHS/CLP, Transport regulation, PFAS regulation, Poison Centre Notification (PCN), Drug precursors, Dual use, Chemical weapons, EU REACH, Turkey REACH, K-REACH etc. This role must have the ability to interpret and disseminate complex regulatory and legislative text and obligations to stakeholders. Experienced in steering businesses through the evolving regulatory landscape to stay compliant to new and existing regulatory obligations. Perform and regularly communicate regulatory impact assessment on business portfolio.

 

Project management

This role will be required to exhibit leadership and project management capabilities to coordinate cross-functional teams. Planning and strategizing initiatives to maximize corporate resources and achieve timely compliance. Effective communication of deliverables to senior management routinely. Ability to multitask, prioritize and to meet strict deadlines.

 

Decision-making and Problem Solving

This role requires some level of autonomy and initiative when it comes to decision-making and problem solving. Attention to detail and in-depth analysis of each problem/situation prior to making a decision is key; the end result would be a recommendation for action or an informed decision, with sound rationale, taken in light of the problem on hand. Develops action plans and the ability to coordinate the team through the plan to successfully address a problem.

The typical base salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $105k and $158k.
