Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a meticulous and reliable R&D Technician to join our R&D team at our facility in Wantage, Oxon. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in laboratory operations, a strong understanding of chemical processes, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
This is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare and test chemical samples according to established procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Record and analyze test results accurately, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Support research and development projects by conducting routine and specialized tests.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and ensure proper storage of chemicals.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines within the laboratory.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to testing or equipment.
- Support pilot-coating and formulation mixing for R&D Chemists.
- Carry out development product characterisation and performance evaluations.
- Provide statistical, product performance data in supporting Development Projects.
- Participate in technical discussions with R&D Chemists, providing scientific insight based on the product performance data

- Expertise with Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience with DOE and statistical analysis software (e.g. minitab) would be advantageous
- Ideally degree qualified in chemistry or a related subject
What competencies will you need?
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of laboratory techniques, chemical handling, and analytical testing.
- Safety & Compliance: Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Data Accuracy: Ability to document and interpret results with precision.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Communication: Clear reporting and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Time Management: Efficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
