Senior Application Engineer

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a practical, creative, and extremely talented hands-on senior Chemist, Material Scientist or a Chemical Engineer to join our applications development team. The Sr. Application Engineer will be responsible for providing local, site-specific support for our product development functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for data package generation, design and execute systematic studies, optimize existing products, scaleup and testing of proprietary additives and components coming from research and development. The successful candidate will characterize the processes utilizing DoE methodologies and the deposits by physical and chemical methods providing feedback to research and development. In addition, they will assist in developing and implementing analytical techniques for products and processes.

What will you be doing?

• Conduct wet chemistry and electroplating experiments to support the development and optimization of semiconductor plating technologies, including damascene, wafer-level packaging, and compound semiconductor applications.
• Design and execute experiments (DoE) to evaluate new and existing formulations, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations.
• Generate technical data, reports, and application insights to support product development, customer engagement, and marketing activities.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to support product qualification, commercialization, and scale-up activities.
• Lead or contribute to technical projects with clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
• Participate in safety initiatives, process improvement efforts, and problem-solving activities within cross-functional teams.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and stay current with emerging technologies, methods, and industry trends.
• Communicate technical information effectively to customers, engineers, sales teams, and other stakeholders.
• Foster a strong safety culture while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Who are You?

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering and or related field

3-5 years of related experience working in chemistry laboratories, preferably plating industries

What competencies will you need?

Wet chemistry and process execution:

Preparation and handling of chemical plating solutions, safe handling of acids and metal salts, lab discipline and possess good data interpretation to determine process sensitivity

Electrochemical deposition expertise:

Copper electroplating process fundamentals, basic understanding of scaling challenge and familiarity with Cu, Sn, Ni, Au and different alloys metallization systems  

Communication Skills:

Professional and responsible communication with internal and external customers. Effective in discussing chemistry, component, and equipment testing and analysis. Confident presents to peers and customers.

Creativity:

Trusted to plan, execute, and report on complex projects. Capable of collaborative problem-solving and proactive initiative.

Results Orientation:

Excellent organizational skills, managing multiple complex projects. Set high performance standards and consistently complete tasks diligently.

Collaboration:

Understand objectives and collaborate effectively. Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers. Adaptable, seeking feedback to improve performance.
