Job Purpose

Under the direction of the SMT Line of Business Director, the Regional Product Manager (RPM) provides tactical and strategic product line support to commercial teams in the Americas and European regions, as well as, to global functional teams as needed. The primary responsibility of the RPM is to develop and execute a strategic plan by working collaboratively with functional business unit (BU) partners (Commercial, R&D, Supply chain, Engineering, etc) to support the needs of the represented regions while delivering profitability in line with the global circuit board assembly BU strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for deployment of global Line of Business strategy in Americas and European regions.
  • Works closely with regional management to identify needs and to formulate regional product line objectives.
  • Communicate regional needs to Line of Business for prioritization and provides input into global product line planning process.
  • Actively analyses the regional product line performance (revenue, margin, commercial pipeline) against global BU objectives and works collaboratively with regional leadership to develop and implement action plans.
  • Supports execution of global breakthrough strategic initiatives through ownership of L2 action plan KPIs.
  • Develops mind share through interactions with customers, OEM teams, and industry consortia that directly contributes to the product line technology roadmap (TRM) advancement.
  • Drives development of high impact selling tools supporting product line value propositions that can be effectively communicated through commercial organizations.
  • Champion regional product line needs through development of compelling business cases that identify a justifiable path to profitability to receive global steering committee approval for investment.
  • Serve as business champion on New Product Development projects as owner of business case, technical specification targets and project leader accountable to mobilization of cross functional teams responsible for effective execution and commercial launch of your product vision.
  • Accelerate adoption of newly commercialized products.
  • Helps establish and maintain regional product line priorities based on changing internal and external needs and expectations.
  • Defines marketing communications plan inclusive of promotional activities, technical publications, sales force activities, and electronic media.


Three to five years related experience and/or training in the electronics industry, process engineering, marketing and/or customer facing role. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Must be able to travel up to a maximum of 25% of working time globally and domestically.
  • experience in the electronic assembly industry.
  • Be a team member participating in a cross-functional team environment translating customer needs into technology solutions. 
  • Possess leadership skills and the ability to drive project goals via influence on the organization
  • Must abide by all Company policies/procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of the Company’s products and procedures.
  • Possess well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Address inquiries and resolve problems by using appropriate resources/other departments to achieve results/answers.
  • Present a professional attitude and handle confidential information according to non-disclosure guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a high paced and multi-tasking environment.
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English. 
  • Well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal customers at off-site AMG and divisional locations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.    
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable analyzing large, complex data sets and familiarity with MS Excel pivot tables is preferred
