Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced, pragmatic, and people-focused HR Generalist to support employees and leaders within a global chemical organization. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a complex, matrixed environment and can effectively balance operational excellence with strategic people support.
As a trusted HR partner, you will play a key role in delivering end-to-end HR services across the employee lifecycle, including payroll administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. You will help ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices while remaining responsive to local legislation, cultural considerations, and evolving business needs.
What will you be doing?
As an HR Generalist, you will provide comprehensive HR support to managers and employees, ensuring a seamless employee experience and compliant HR operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and employment-related matters.
- Managing end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, probation management, contract administration, internal transfers, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Coordinating and administering monthly payroll activities, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in partnership with payroll providers or shared service teams.
- Validating payroll inputs, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, allowances, leave records, and statutory deductions.
- Supporting employee enquiries relating to payroll, compensation, benefits, and HR administration.
- Managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, workplace investigations, and performance-related cases.
- Ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, tax and payroll regulations, company policies, and global governance requirements.
- Supporting key HR programmes and annual cycles, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, engagement surveys, and workforce planning activities.
- Partnering with HR Centres of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, and Rewards teams, to implement global and regional initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity within HR and payroll systems.
- Producing HR metrics, payroll reports, and workforce analytics to support business decision-making and compliance requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance HR and payroll processes, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the employee experience.
- Supporting audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance reviews where required within a highly regulated and safety-focused environment.

What competencies will you need?
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
- Experience supporting payroll administration in partnership with internal or outsourced payroll teams.
- Experience working within a multinational organisation and matrixed environment.
- Knowledge of employment practices and legislation in Singapore and/or broader Asia Pacific markets is advantageous.
