Who are we looking for?

The R&D Scientist will be an expert in developing applications using our custom ActiveCopper paste and ink formulations. The position is hands-on, where the ideal candidate will interface with customers and internal organizations to prototype and qualify new applications for our customers. The qualified candidate will work with a global team focused on productization of ActiveCopper while working closely with on-site applications teams to develop new formulations and processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Hold self to the highest safety standards and commit to building a solid safety culture in all laboratory and related activities.
  • Manage customer and internal projects from inception to completion
  • Develop new formulations with ActiveCopper to address customer needs in relevant market segments
  • Work closely with formulation and synthesis teams to productize formulas for promising applications
  • Develop relationships with colleagues across the globe to drive new applications into the market
  • Apply analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and develop and execute experiments to implement those improvements
  • Prepare presentations to share results internally and with customers
  • Interface with quality professionals to execute quality control programs
  • Actively participate in workgroup team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem-solving, and other workgroups, department, and functional topics.

Who are You?

  • Bachelors degree required in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chem Engineering, Electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant and related job experience a minimum, with additional experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of chemistry and materials science is a must
  • Experience with electronics assembly or manufacturing
  • Experience with failure analysis
  • Experience in chemical and material analytical techniques (SEM, EDS, IC, XRD, TGA, DSC, GDMS, X-ray, UV/Vis), and working in a research laboratory is preferred
  • Experience in nanoparticle materials systems is preferred
  • Experience in inorganic chemistry and chemical analysis techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.
