Job Purpose

Service department employees are employed to deliver the desired enterprise customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability.  Work within MacDermid Envio Services (MES) Technical Services department supervising (hands on) installation of equipment, starting up the same equipment, helping customers operate waste treatment plants (WWTP) and performing on-site service calls.

Job Responsibilities

  • Hands on supervision of installation and startups, by effectively managing subcontractors.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Train end users on Operation and Maintenance of systems
  • Service existing customers during service calls and warranty evaluations
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports for each project and service support cases
  • Provide telephone & email support to customers when in the office
  • Work with other internal groups while in the office (Manufacturing, Controls & Engineering)
  • Tie workflow to schedule
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
  • Build positive relationships with customer
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requires Skills and Abilities

  • Capable of heavy periods of travel when deployed as a multi-site Technical Service Rep or Field Service
  • Capable of making multiple back-to-back trips
  • Capable of working extended hours when traveling
  • Capable of spending extended periods of time in the office during slow travel periods.
  • Valid & clean driver's License
  • Valid Passport or capable of obtaining a passport
  • Capable of flying on large or small aircraft
  • Decision maker capable of working alone or leading a group
  • Capable of working with and training all personality types
  • Must have a down to earth personality and cannot get easily flustered
  • Capable of adapting to an ever-changing schedule
  • Excellent communication skills necessary
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience

  • Technical Degree, 3 to 5 plus years working as a WWTP Operator, or Military Training is preferred
  • Mechanical Background
  • Electrical Background
  • Basic Chemistry understanding
  • Knowledge of PLC and Allen Bradley systems is a strong plus

Physical Requirements

  • The position requires many periods of out-of-town travel ranging from one day to two plus weeks at a time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
