Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Research & Development (R&D) Project Manager based out of our Piscataway, NJ site. The R&D Project Manager will be working within a global team of R&D scientists and Applications Engineers and in coordination with Business Unit leaders, Sales and Development partners. You will be responsible for overseeing Applications Projects related to Circuit Board Assembly (CBA), reinforcement (underfill and Edgebond), and protection (conformal coating) materials and deliver to internal and external customers high quality services within budget and defined plans.
What will you be doing?
- Take overall responsibility for planning and managing both internal and external projects related to the development of Electronics Assembly Solutions, with a primary focus on Circuit Board Assembly.
- Facilitate project meetings, providing timely updates to management and relevant stakeholders on the status of the project, including budget, task completion, timelines, risks, and scope.
- Collaborate with global Application Centers (US, Europe, Asia) and internal teams to ensure the right expertise is employed in defining, planning, and executing projects.
- Develop and manage cost, time, and resource plans for projects; assess risks and define effective countermeasures.
- Manage risks and issues by identifying potential constraints related to activities and timelines, and lead efforts to find solutions that mitigate project impacts.
- Proactively notify management of any issues, risks, or concerns that could affect project success.
- Work alongside a team of internal Project Managers to develop and maintain comprehensive portfolio management processes.
- Collaborate closely with Line of Business Project Managers, Product Managers, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure alignment and smooth flow of up-to-date information.
- Act as a mentor to empower local technical teams in adopting and executing effective project management practices.
Who are You?
- Has the capability to manage complex projects and apply various management concepts, including Agile, Waterfall, and others, based on project needs. Proven project management training (PMP, CSM, CPMP, or similar certifications) is a must.
- Brings hands-on experience in managing technology-oriented projects and/or has a background in electronics or related fields.
- Is a bottom-line focused, assertive, and resilient team player who excels in high-performance, cross-cultural team environments.
- Approaches challenges with confidence and purpose, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understands customer needs, is committed to delivering high-quality service, and is passionate about continuous improvement.
- Possesses comprehensive computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, MS Projects, and similar tools.
- Is open to occasional travel (less than 15%) to build and maintain strong international relationships.
