R&D Fellow

Who are we looking for?

The Associate R&D Fellow, Open Innovation is a recognized technical authority within MacDermid Alpha Electronic Solutions, representing the "best of the best" among individual technical contributors. This role acquires, develops, and applies deep scientific and technological expertise to solve complex problems that support multiple platforms across the business leveraging their extensive industry connections. The Associate R&D Fellow, Open Innovation works to fill gaps in our technology pipelines to create new, commercially relevant platform capabilities to address unmet market needs.

What will you be doing?

• Leverages their subject matter expertise and extensive industry connections to identify and develop new technology opportunities aligned with new and emerging trends in the electronics market.
• Works with the marketing and R&D teams across MAES to fill gaps in our technology pipelines to create new, commercially relevant platform capabilities.
• Fosters external collaborations and partnerships to gain access to technologies outside of MAES
• Deep dives into attractive technology landscapes to identify valuable unmet needs that could justify a technology development project and/or other partnership scenarios.
• Prepares technical proposal/pitches for R&D investment (internal and external).  Partners to define and execute the technology strategy aligned to business strategic objectives.
• Engages with industry associations to help drive the technical direction and standards of the industry.
• Align technical direction with business objectives, applying a working knowledge of financial fundamentals and demonstrating comfort with both commercial and technical discussions.
• Independently visit customers, author call reports, and teach internal and external courses to share technical expertise.
• Builds effective working relationships across teams, focusing on team goals, seeking and providing feedback, and acting as a role model and teacher within the organization.

Who are You?

• PhD with more than 7 years of relevant experience
• Alternatively, MS with more than 15 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, BS with more than 20 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated track record of deep technical expertise recognized within the industry.
• Proven ability to contribute to the fundamental scientific and technological understanding supporting multiple platforms.
• Experience presenting at industry conferences, authoring technical publications, and engaging directly with customers.

The typical base salary range for this position is between $145,789 and  $218,683.
