SEMICONDUCTOR & ASSEMBLY SOLUTIONS (SAS)

Who are we looking for?
The Director of Global Metals Planning & Master Production Scheduling will be an integral part of the Supply Chain Team, orchestrating the complex interplay between production processes, capacity constraints, and material availability to ensure efficient operations and meet customer demands effectively. By leveraging planning tools, continuous improvement methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration, the Director of Global Metals Planning & Master Production Scheduling plays a pivotal role in optimizing production workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing overall business performance.
What will you be doing?
- Represent the Supply Chain planning team as planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Metals and Reclaim Supply Chain Planning.
- Actively drive process to disposition excess reclaim inventory across the CBA responsible sites globally to avoid excess Hedge swings and coordinate strategic intercompany movement of bulk materials, to help balance inventories globally and curb unnecessary external purchases.
- Create a monthly Rough-Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) to provide a broader assessment of capacity requirements and constraints over a mid-to-longer term horizon to ensure that the production plan outlined in the MPS is feasible and achievable given available resources and constraints.
- Develop a sequenced master production schedule (MPS) that outlines when and how much of each product should be manufactured to meet supply plan.
- Utilize MRP planning systems to generate accurate material requirements plans based on demand forecasts, lead times, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
- Work with Global Supply Chain lead and Global Engineering to map out powder alloy/type capability and capacity by factory to identify best “footprint” for powder sourcing globally based on direct costs/kg and ability to effectively meet local demands globally.
- Own monthly process that provides outlook for metals finished good products and the conversion of those consensus forecasts to metals 90 day buying guidance by manufacturing site for Virgin or Reclaimed Metals.
- Ensure local site buyers consistently integrate the consensus forecast into their buying plans to ensure minimum appropriate inventories are supported monthly.
- Establish best practice methodology for Intercompany Powder ordering and effective integration of intercompany powder demands into local manufacturing planning/forecasting processes.
- Monitor intercompany powder order flows globally to ensure best practice working capital and manufacturing planning outcomes.
- Consult with Procurement group on optimized third party powder sourcing that compliments effective asset utilization of our global powder manufacturing sites,
- Own and lead weekly Schedule Adherence meetings to provide updates on production status, address issues, and make recommendations for improvement
Who are You?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or other STEM discipline, and/or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven history of successfully managing production schedules, capacity planning, and material requirement planning.
- Accomplished Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Experience with ERP system, knowledge of JDE is a plus
- APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or CPF certification preferred.
