Who are we looking for?
The Scale-Up Technician will be responsible for supporting the transition of products from the research and development (R&D) phase to large-scale production. This role will involve the execution of experiments, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining quality standards.
What will you be doing?
- Process Scale-Up: Assist in the transfer of processes from the lab or pilot scale to full-scale production. Ensure the smooth scaling of new products, troubleshooting, and adjusting processes as necessary.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain production equipment used in scaling up manufacturing processes, ensuring that all machinery is functioning optimally and safely.
- Process Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor scale-up processes, identifying potential issues and inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to increase yield, quality, and productivity.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and analyze data during scale-up trials, documenting results, prepare/present reports, and provide feedback to the R&D and production teams to make informed decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure successful product commercialization.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical problems during the scale-up process to prevent production delays.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure that all scale-up activities meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols. Preform quality control (QC) testing in line with standard procedures and work instructions.
Who are You?
- Education: Associate degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a production, engineering, or manufacturing environment, with a focus on process scale-up.

What competencies will you need?
- Technical Skills: Experience with operating and maintaining industrial equipment, troubleshooting mechanical or process-related issues, and working in a laboratory or production setting. Demonstrate capacity to work with Microsoft Office Products, and other critical computer applications.
