Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between product development and real-world application. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication skills and enjoys working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions.
You will play a key role in supporting product development, validating performance in customer applications, and providing technical expertise to drive adoption and satisfaction.
What will you be doing?
As an Applications Engineer, you will:
- Support product development: Collaborate with R&D scientists to ensure new products meet application requirements.
- Conduct application testing: Perform lab and pilot-scale evaluations to validate product performance in customer-specific conditions.
- Provide technical support: Assist customers and sales teams with product selection, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Develop application guidelines: Create technical documentation, best practices, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing to align product capabilities with market needs.
- Analyze performance data: Interpret test results and provide recommendations for product improvements or application enhancements.
- Participate in customer trials: Support on-site evaluations and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends: Monitor emerging technologies and application requirements to inform R&D priorities.

What competencies will you need?
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering; experience with specialty chemicals applications.
- Application Testing Skills: Ability to design and conduct experiments, interpret results, and recommend solutions.
- Customer Support: Experience providing technical assistance and troubleshooting in industrial or commercial settings.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing performance data and preparing technical reports.
- Communication Skills: Ability to create clear documentation and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing application projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with end-use markets such as electronics, coatings, adhesives, or polymers.
- Education & Experience: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; prior experience in applications engineering or technical service preferred.

In addition, you will also receive a 401k plan with company matching, Life Insurance, and Medical Insurance as well as 9 holidays. The salary range for this position is $71,822 to $107,732.
