Who are we looking for?

The role is responsible all Finance aspects of IT, HR and Legal spend within Element Solutions Inc. globally.  In short you will be immediately challenged with creating, implementing and managing a global financial model for ESI IT, HR and Legal that includes the consolidation of budgets residing in multiple ERP systems and cost centers.  The role will also be responsible for working with corporate and regional FPA to research and comment on IT, HR and Legal variances to Forecasts/Budgets & Prior Year.  Initiate, validate and approve Corporate accounting closes for IT, HR and Legal cost centers in accordance with GAAP.  In addition, you will evaluate strategic initiatives and recommend finance course of action for capital, contract and project costs.  The IT and Corporate Finance manager will lead the annual budgeting process and then track actual spend to those budgets through monthly forecasts. 

What will you be doing?

  • Provide analytical support to the IT organization by planning, preparing and delivering the annual budget, long-range strategic plan, monthly forecasts and decision support; month-end financial close, asset management, and accruals.
  • Manage zero-based annual budgeting cycle for IT, HR and Legal globally
  • Tracking of IT. HR and Legal spend and variance against the approved budget through monthly forecasts.
  • Ensure financial compliance and governance by monitoring and implementing internal controls related to Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Derive and quantify key metrics for IT, HR and Legal across service areas within GA to be used in business cases, estimates, forecasts and planning
  • Utilize strong financial modeling capabilities to support key IT, HR and Legal programs / initiatives
  • Continually reevaluate the overall IT, HR and Legal cost of revenue operating cost model and financial flows to make assessments and recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in projects to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the supported businesses
  • Utilize various financial systems (Essbase, Hyperion, SAP, Chrome River etc.) to extract financial data for analysis
  • Responsible for working closely with ESI Finance and Planning team on financial reporting and tracking
  • Support ad hoc management reporting and analysis, as needed
  • Curiosity to explore database tools like Microsoft BI and AI.  Collaborate and maintain working relationships with appropriate technology vendor contacts and peer company contacts

Who are You?

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a financial area, MBA or CPA preferred
  • Must have 7+ years of financial management experience in an IT service based company with an international presence
  • In-depth understanding of primary financial statements (P/L, balance sheet and cash flow) and related accounting concepts and key accounting and tax principles
  • Broad experience in financial analysis, including the development of business cases (NPV, IRR, pay-back, ROI etc) and extensive experience creating these analyses in Excel or other modeling software.
  • Language:  fluent English
  • Demonstrated financial management in a global organization, experienced in multi-currency corporations
  • Clear understanding and management capability in the area of tax
  • Strong understanding of IT metrics/drivers and relationship to financial performance
  • Experience with annual budgeting and chargeback/cost allocation process
  • Experience in managing costs across multiple countries, cultures, and businesses.  Superior analytical and strategic-thinking skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with senior management
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel (V-look ups, Pivot Tables) SAP and Hyperion Financial Management tools.  Be able to juggle multiple projects at once; are resourceful, hands-on, and have a "can do" mindset
