Business Development Engineer
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a commercially technically proficient Business Development Engineer to help drive growth across our global chemical portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and commercial strategy. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities, developing customer solutions, and supporting the expansion of our product and service offerings.
What will you be doing?
- To support the Technical Business Development Team, Strategic Account, and Account Managers to achieve year-over-year revenue and margin growth targets as well as assigned account development goals and objectives, employing a comprehensive commercial strategy to pursue markets, applications, and customers. The primary objective: supporting PBA products Sales Growth forecast as defined by our Company’s Break Through Strategic Objectives (BTSO’s).
- To provide technical and applications credibility during customer interactions that help support the ESI roadmap to revenue process and/or strategic account plans.
- To be the technical bridge between the Lines of Business/Business Units (LoB’s/BU’s) and the Sales Team, leveraging our global teams to specify and validate our technology.
- Support development of training and selling tools to execute commercial strategy with regional BU commercial tea
- To feedback customer insight to the LoB and BU teams from a technology perspective
- To create, lead and execute on robust product trial plans with customers defining testing criteria and establishing how success will be measured
- To be the 1st line of defense in customer crisis management situations directly related to “line down” and/or technical customer complaints. Recognized subject matter expert, participate in industry associations/forums/consortia, deliver papers, and public speaking.
- To deliver Voice of Customer Market and customer roadmaps aligned with targeted Account Master Plans; identification of potential new growth pillars through evaluation of Market Adjacencies and White Space (ie: the process companies use to evaluate their existing products, services, and markets to address unmet customer needs).
- Feed potential new product development ideas/opportunities into stage gate system.
- Supply Chain – collaboration with commercial teams to exploit existing partnerships to validate products and technologies and to reduce time to market to ‘feed the funnel’ of Atlas Opportunities.
- Develop, monitor & report sales pipeline (ATLAS).
- Collaborate with MX and US Based Technical Business Development Managers and Engineers
Who are You?
- Bachelor’s Degree re
- Graduate degree and specific credentials in an engineering.
- 6 to 7 years industry related experience is desired
- Proficient English and Spanish language capability – written and verbal

- Must be able to solve problems and troubleshoot technical matters while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, propose and implement effective solutions.
- Must have outstanding customer relations skills and be able to adapt to varying customer needs
- Ability to maintain a solution-oriented approach while dealing with interpersonal conflict, hazardous conditions, personal rejection, or time demands.
- Ability to prepare for emerging customer needs, manage multiple projects, determine project urgency in a meaningful and practical way; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans, and organize and schedule people and tasks.

- Ability to take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles; be available and demonstrate dependability in difficult circumstance
