Job Purpose
The Chemical/Process Engineer is responsible for managing and executing production process projects within their assigned product line. This position will collaborate with Product Management, Production, Quality, and Applications Engineering to create and improve processes that optimize manufacturability, functionality, cost, and quality. Success in this position requires a data-driven, self-starting, multi-tasking, organized, and detail-oriented personality as well as the ability to pursue tasks independent of managerial oversight while thriving in a collaborative team environment
Job Responsibilities
- Meeting with production managers to assess existing processes.
- Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
- Performing risk assessments, such as PFMEA.
- Perform Technology Transfer Projects from Multiple Manufacturing Sites
- Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues.
- Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
- Developing standardized operating instructions for the upgrades process.
- Run Capital Projects to Upgrade Machine assets
- Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
- Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
- Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports.
- Support scale-up team from lab scale to low volume production and ramp to high volume manufacturing.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in Chemical Engineering
- Six Sigma experience preferred
- SAP preferred
- Ability to understand & use Kanban, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, & TQM processes.
- Ability to be a key contributor in cross functional teams.
