Applications Development Technician (m/f/d)

Who are we looking for?

The Applications Development Technician is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of electrolytes, as well as for executing sample processing activities within the pilot plating line of the Application Lab.

In this role, the technician supports the creation of customer‑specific samples that enable strategic initiatives across the EMEA region. The position also contributes to scale‑up activities for new technologies and supports ongoing Application Development projects by ensuring reliable and high‑quality sample production.

What will you be doing?

  • Prepare, maintain and verify electrolytes to ensure stable process performance.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain equipment in the pilot plating line.
  • Execute sample plating runs for customer projects, internal development initiatives, and new technology evaluations.
  • Perform analytical measurements and document process parameters, results, and deviations.
  • Realize trouble-shooting activities to adjust and improve electrolyte performance.
  • Support training activities for internal or external customers.
  • Support scale‑up and process validation activities for new chemistries, applications, and technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with Application Development Engineers, Field Development Experts, Technical Specialists and the R&D/global Application CoE team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards within the laboratory and pilot line.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab and plating equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and sample records according to internal procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency, quality, and reliability of sample production.

Who are You?

  • Vocational training or technical education in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Surface Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in electroplating, laboratory work, or chemical process operations is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques (e.g., titration, pH, conductivity, Hull cell testing) is desirable.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and laboratory equipment.
  • Basic understanding of process control and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in English.
