Who are we looking for?
The candidate will be responsible for identifying, quantifying, and prioritizing market and business segment opportunities across the Circuitry Business Unit. The Circuitry BU aims to position MacDermid Alpha as a recognized leader and attractive development partner for PCB fabricators and specialty component manufacturers, as well as their OEM customers engaged in system design. This position will work with commercial team partners and Line of Business leaders to effectively characterize and differentiate the value and fit of opportunities within the space. The position will effectively engage in „voice of customer“ exercises, combined with technology and market review, with an objective to effectively channel MA resources to high-impact programs. Skilled resource deployment will in turn drive profitable growth. This position will be actively engaged with managing, co-authoring, and assuring execution of Circuitry BU’s strategic plan across the Asian region.
What will you be doing?
- Utilizing sound and rigorous business analytics to drive resource deployment decisions. Position will utilize analytics and collaboration with peers to „down-select and filter“ ideas/requests on business and product development
- Execution of VOC exercises with customers and OEMs, alongside commercial, line of business, and research teams.
- Quantification of opportunties and threats in key segments, so to allow and drive development priorities
- Collaboration with technical process/product leaders, commercial team, and LoB leaders to drive/define R&D portfolio
- Close collaboration with Line of Business leaders and Central Marketing team, creating impacful marketing messaging and collateral
- Collaboration with Line of Business teams and Asian commercial teams to deliver optimized pricing recommendations for lead products
- Travel expectations: Signficant travel within Asia region is expected. Travel is estimated at 50%, most commonly characterized as travel to engage with commercial team, GDACs, and customers in all Asian geographic business areas. Annual travel to USA is expected.
Who are You?
- 20+ years deep experience and record of accomplishment in product / business / market development in electronics manufacturing space, preference to experience in PCB industry
- Degree and experience in specialty chemical space, combined with proven business/market analysis skills – MBA a plus.
- Strong communication skills, enabling “extraction of needs”. Mandarin skills strongly preferred.
What competencies will you need?
- Candidate will immediate “engage and embed” in copper plating market review/segmentation, targeting pulse, via-fill and trench-plating segments. Candidate will partner with Martin Bunce, Kesheng Feng, and commercial leaders. Some initial training and orientation is expected, followed by generation of specific KSI/KPI creation linking to GDAC programs and NPD.
- Candidate will connect copper plating VOC and market analysis to new “winning new designs” BTSO – specific to Circuitry Solutions. Project will clearly define/rank/quantify business value, deliverables, and value messaging around new programs
- Candidate will contribute to broader “China + 1” and India BTSO’s, identifying gaps and capability development critical to winning in this market shift. India analysis will be included here.
- Candidate will Contribute market segmentation/quantification to horizontal primary metallization + flash plating opportunity
- Candidate will participate in and take on responsibilities relating to India market expansion, working with BTSO leadership to quantify Circuitry opportunity, forecast growth, and identify critical gaps/needs for the program.
- Candidate will determine Circuitry Unit’s path forward with passives market – through existing Yageo engagement
- Following adequate training and orientation, candidate will participate in Asian aspects of Circuitry BTSO programs. This may evolve to participation in authoring/tracking strategic plans.
