Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive IT System Administrator (m/f/d) to join our team in Jena. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of IT operations, enjoys working with networks and databases, and is eager to contribute to the smooth and secure running of our IT infrastructure.
What will you be doing?
- User management and assignment of rights in Active Directory
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows and Linux systems
- Monitoring and maintenance of the server landscape (Windows & Linux)
- Support network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls) under guidance of IT network team.
- Endpoint setup and management and enrolment of corporate PCs (via script, Intune and ManageEngine)
- Support and further development of our FileMaker databases with necessary change management.
- Planning and execution of backups and disaster recovery
- Patch and update management for operating systems and applications
- Support and training of employees in IT matters
- Documentation of IT infrastructure and systems
- Implementation of security systems/updates/policies under guidance of IT security.
- Inventory management of hardware and software
- Performance monitoring of productive database systems
- Plan and execute system migrations and upgrades
- Coordination of external service providers if required
- Support for IT projects and the introduction of new systems
- Manage IT tickets and ensure timely closure of incidents and requests

What competencies will you need?
- Completed IT training or comparable qualification, e.g., IT specialist in system integration
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management
- Good understanding of network technologies: switches, VLANs, firewalls, routing
- Experience with endpoint management, ideally Microsoft Intune and ManageEngine
- Basic knowledge of database management, FileMaker advantageous
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
- High sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
- Excellent written and spoken German, good English
- Experience with telephony support: mobile and PBX
- Experience with ITSM systems for tickets, change requests, etc.
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred
