ASSEMBLY SOLUTIONS

As a global supplier of solder technologies, fluxes, cleaners and other attachment materials for the electronics assembly industry, we develop innovative materials that join electronic circuits in high volume device manufacturing. Our high-performing interconnect materials are used to assemble consumer electronics from circuit boards, discrete electronic components, connectors and integrated circuit substrates.

Who are we looking for?

The Flux Formulator will utilize production equipment in accordance with the specified work instructions and procedures for the flux formulation processes. The candidate will be responsible for their respective equipment, and tools and will have complete ownership their production line and the quality of their products.

What will you be doing?

  • Handle all aspects of the flux formulation processes:
  • Weigh and mix raw materials as specified in work instructions.
  • Set up and operate mixers, Able to interact with computer software.
  • Able to interpret out of control conditions.  
  • Clearly document required information on work instructions and process control sheets.
  • Demonstrate ownership for the production line.
  • Follow exact process procedures and work instructions. 
  • Support and build to production targets (MRD) for in-process and final goods.
  • Read and understand raw material codes and process control sheets.
  • Identify and organize raw material storage locations, replenish the Kan Ban and Kitchen areas per work instructions.
  • Identify and track all dedicated tools in accordance with best 5S practices, maintain equipment cleanliness and conduct on-time PM.
  • Complete and maintain all process records including process control charts and PM checklists.
  • Actively participate in weekly stand-up meetings in the department.
  • Consult with team lead on production schedule.
  • Communicate and drive new ideas to improve quality and reduce costs through continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify and notify Functional Lead/Supervisor of process and/or equipment problems.
  • Cross train on other Flux Formulation processes and equipment. 

Who are You?

  •  Preparation and mixing of raw materials: Weigh and mix specific chemicals according to work instructions to create different types of fluxes.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment: Set up, operate, and clean Pots and other laboratory equipment used in flux formulation.
  • Following established procedures: Adhere strictly to process procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and document process control sheets, identify and report out-of-control conditions, and participate in quality control activities.
  • Inventory management: Track and organize raw materials and finished products, replenish inventory, and ensure proper storage.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, checklists, and production records.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Identify and report process or equipment problems and collaborate with supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Work effectively with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and quality assurance personnel.
  • Safety and housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, comply with all safety regulations, and manage hazardous waste.

What competencies will you need?

  • Chemical knowledge: Understanding of chemical properties, reactions, and safety precautions related to flux formulation.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to accurately measure and mix ingredients, follow procedures precisely, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with processes or equipment.
  • Organizational skills: Efficiently manage time, tasks, and inventory.
  • Communication skills: Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel.
  • Computer skills: Ability to interact with computer software used in the formulation process and for documentation.
  • Physical strength and stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Pay range for this role is $20-$28 per hour. DOE and education.
