Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a hands-on, highly engaged EHS Coordinator who is passionate about creating a safe and compliant workplace. The ideal candidate is a visible, floor-oriented safety professional who actively interacts with employees, identifies risks, leads investigations, and ensures corrective actions are implemented effectively. This individual is committed to continuous improvement and fostering a strong safety-first culture across the site.

What will you be doing?

As an EHS Coordinator, you will support the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility. Key responsibilities include:

Safety Compliance & Auditing

  • Conduct regular workplace safety audits and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with internal, local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and reporting systems
  • Identify hazards, document them in Intelex, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support and review changes to facilities, processes, equipment, and raw materials to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance

Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations
  • Perform root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone)
  • Conduct audits independently or with third-party contractors
  • Track trends and communicate findings to leadership

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Conduct new employee safety orientations
  • Deliver EHS training programs and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support safety meetings and initiatives
  • Promote employee participation in safety programs and reporting

Risk Assessment & Hazard Prevention

  • Perform job safety analyses (JSA/JHA)
  • Identify hazards and recommend effective controls
  • Support ergonomic and machine safety improvements
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams on risk reduction
  • Support the Process Safety Management (PSM) program

Safety Culture Development

  • Promote a proactive “safety first” culture at all levels
  • Engage directly with employees on the production floor
  • Encourage hazard and near-miss reporting
  • Support behavior-based safety initiatives

Environmental Compliance 

  • Support waste management and environmental reporting
  • Assist with spill prevention and response
  • Maintain environmental compliance documentation
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives

What competencies will you need?

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, and applicable standards)
  • Experience with safety audits, inspections, and compliance programs
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to conduct effective safety training and lead employee engagement initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills to track trends and recommend improvements
  • Familiarity with safety management systems (e.g., Intelex or similar platforms)
  • Collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and leadership
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and building a strong safety culture
