Who are we looking for?
To manage supplier relationships and drive cross-functional collaboration across internal teams. This role is responsible for coordinating testing and optimization efforts, identifying innovative materials, and ensuring alignment between suppliers and internal stakeholders to support product development and continuous improvement.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance, quality, and innovation.
- Manage sourcing of supply and contract administration
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional meetings involving engineering, quality, and procurement.
- Manage timelines and deliverables for material testing and optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate new materials and technologies for potential integration.
- Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement efforts
- Identify and qualify new suppliers and materials aligned with company goals.
Who are You?
- Educated to degree level
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and advanced MS Excel
- Experience in supply chain, sourcing or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in supplier management, materials sourcing, or product development.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Located in Japan, with the ability to speak the Japanese language and culture in support of communicating messages to global teams.
- Ability to speak English, additional language skills in Chinese and Korean would be highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.
What competencies will you need?
- Supplier management - Developing supplier partnerships, managing performance, and handling escalations.
- Materials Planning - Expertise in inventory management and procurement strategies.
- Communication and negotiation - Strong ability to negotiate improvements with scale and influence internal/external stakeholders.
- Analytical skills - Data-driven decision-making and predictive modelling
- Project Management - Proven ability to manage complex, fast-paced projects.
