Who are we looking for?
The purpose of this position is the formulation senior scientist of the CBA/AIA products in global market. The main focus of this role is to develop new products as key formulator for PDP/TDP.
- Review project specification. Clarify detail of each specification. Discuss with project team if there is unclear specification. Requesting project team to change the specification if needed.
- Prepare project plan.
- Investigate new formulation.
- Develop new products by the appointed date with evaluation report.
- Prepare DFMEA, TTP and Phase closing document.
What will you be doing?
- Responsible for new product development for CBA/AIA/SA soldering materials.
- Understand the project objectives and clarify the requirement. Collaborate with the team to resolve any uncertainties.
- Work closely with Laboratory co-workers on a daily basis and report to the Regional Director.
- Be responsible for maintaining 5S in the laboratory so to operate safely.
- Be responsible for running specific processing equipment in the laboratory in Hiratsuka. These include P&P machines, Reflow ovens, SPI, Printing systems, Environmental test chambers, viscometer, rheometer, SEM/EDX amongst others.
- Conduct periodical maintenance of equipment-of-responsibility, making sure that equipment is always in optimum working condition.
- Be capable of supporting colleagues by preparing samples and running analytical equipment as needed.
- Conduct failure mode analysis routines, identify defects and involved materials and provide improvement solutions.
- Support in writing technical papers, presentations, etc to support the commercial team.
- Be able to travel globally and engage in customer support through business meetings and production line process optimization activities when necessary.
- Work with global team in delivering complex multi-site projects as necessary.
Who are You?
To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job the incumbent of this position must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in chemistry or electronics.
Having industry experience in circuit board assembly field experience is preferred.
What competencies will you need?
To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, the candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Full fluency in English and Japanese are required for communication with local and foreign stakeholders.
The candidate must possess skills that allow him/her to prepare effective DOE's and run statistical analysis independently.
