Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a commercially technically proficient Business Development Engineer to help drive growth across our global chemical portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and commercial strategy. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities, developing customer solutions, and supporting the expansion of our product and service offerings.
What will you be doing?
- Specialist for connectors and electronic applications in high-speed (RTR), drum and rack applications, ideally also with experience in the field of PCBs
- Responsible as a technician for all processes (connectors and PCBs) in the field (mainly southern Germany, but also nationwide and abroad)
- Reporting on customer visits, customer requests, technical trends and competitive activities on the market
- Process-supporting investigations, e.g. sample coatings for presentation to customers
- Development of technologies
- Providing technical support to customers
- Supporting beta site tests
- Assisting with customer and process problems
- Acting as a link between customers and internal service or R&D
- Providing technical advice to support sales
- Carrying out sampling to narrow down the causes of errors or for technical demonstration purposes
- Documentation of technical facts and results of measures initiated or changes made at the customer's site
- Customer support during process training for internal and external customers
- Customer advice by telephone
- Practical testing of electrolytes to solve customer application problems
- Electrolyte preparation and commissioning of customer systems
- Written documentation of customer visits
- Written documentation of technical information (general and customer-specific)
- Development and creation of customer-specific plant layouts (process chemistry, equipment)
- Training of customers and colleagues
- Participation in internal and external meetings
Who are You?
- Experience in project planning
- Good knowledge of common MS applications
- Good English skills
- Knowledge of statistical principles
- Strong analytical skills and structured approach
- Assertiveness and strong communication skills
- Independent working style, strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and creativity
- Analytical and structured approach, flexibility and resilience
- Flexibility and willingness to travel (regionally and internationally)
- Class B driving license and willingness to travel, possibly also abroad
What competencies will you need?
- Degree in chemistry, process engineering, engineering or a similar field (e.g. chemical engineer, electroplating technician or master electroplater)
- Several years of professional experience in the field of surface & electroplating technology, specifically connectors in tape coating or PCB
