Who are we looking for?

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Develop detailed project plans and schedules for Facilities Projects. Execute capital projects on time, on budget with zero EHS events while maintaining a high level of coordination and communication with stakeholders. Implement plans with internal and external resources within scope and budget. Utilize input from other Engineers developing to coordinate project phases and coordinate with other ongoing projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Identify and collaborate with 3rd parties and Engineering to develop full scope of Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Instrument, Automation, Electrical, Remediation, EHS equipment and labor costs for Capital Construction Projects.  Identify all applicable State, Federal, Good Practice Consensus codes and ensure designs are compliant. Work with purchasing and engineering to identify best cost vs. value added suppliers for overall project value and lowest cost of ownership.
  • Receive and verify/refine Front End Deliverables (Flow Diagrams, Heat and Mass Balances, P&ID’s, Equipment, System and Instrument Data Sheets, Layouts) and use to generate Requests for Capital Expenditure. 
  • Responsible for field and project engineering, quality control, contract administration, shop drawing review, submittals, scheduling, and related support functions including.
    • Change order management- administering, pricing, submission and tracking
    • Assist VP/ Project leader in establishing a construction plan and engineering methods.
    • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and costing system
    • Assist with Equipment selection and rental coordination
    • Material procurement and expediting
    • Assist with review drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control
    • Subcontract administration- define scope of work, answer inquiries, monitor progress, track and process payments
    • Prepare and track progress payment and estimates
    • Monitor temporary works and inspection, inventory control, monitoring and tracing of equipment and resources
    • Participate in engineering design improvements and process upgrades
  •  Work with process engineering to provide technical solutions to plant operations including troubleshooting, project implementation and training
  • Obtain estimates, order and manage construction of approved capital expenditure projects, including laboratory or office alterations, HVAC replacements and equipment installations.  

Who are you?

  • Bachelor’s level degree is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the wastewater treatment industry
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
  • Proven work experience in project engineering
  • Knowledge of process related standards
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
  • Independent and self-motivated to achieve business goals
  • Effective time-management skills, understand priorities and deliver on agreed goals
  • Fluent German speaking and writing, and business fluent English language skills
  • Proven effectiveness working within engineering team
  • Good collaborator in achieving business goals
  • Good business report writing, presentation creation and delivery
