Who are we looking for?

The R&D Engineer I is responsible for operating, maintaining and supporting pilot‑scale chemical processes and laboratory activities in alignment with R&D program needs. The role involves hands‑on operation of pilot plant equipment, maintenance and troubleshooting of pilot plant equipment, execution of experimental runs, accurate documentation and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

What will you be doing?

  • Set up, operate, and maintain pilot plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable process performance.
  • Support R&D Scientists during experimental set ups, monitoring and data collection.
  • Perform equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and changeovers.
  • Follow ISO‑compliant operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Operate and manage standard chemistry lab equipment and support related lab activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of run conditions, process parameters, observations, and test results.
  • Prepare and submit organized reports on experimental work and findings.
  • Support development and optimization of technologies, processes and pilot‑scale improvements.
  • Review, update, and ensure adherence to SOPs and documentation standards.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and support root‑cause and corrective‑action activities.
  • Maintain 5S, good housekeeping, and safe work practices across plant and lab areas.
  • Manage inventory of raw materials, consumables and finished products.
  • Support packaging, labeling and shipment of materials with R&D and QA teams.
  • Continuously learn new skills, tools, equipment, and process concepts.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional R&D operations and support teams.

Who are You?

  • Diploma or B.E. in Chemical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in chemical or process engineering environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with chemical production, unit operations, and lab/pilot‑scale equipment.

What competencies will you need?

  • Working knowledge of quality systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with machines, tools, and laboratory chemistry instrumentation.
  • Preferred: experience with inventory management and shipping logistics.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent documentation discipline, and ability to work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills suited for a global, cross‑cultural work environment.
