Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our day-to-day manufacturing operations at the Ashby site. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, and championing a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing and motivating a production team comprising Supervisors, Team Leaders, Blenders, and Operatives. You will play a pivotal role as technical expert responsible for the management and supervision of the manufacturing processes, ensuring that processes are completed on time and within budget and that trained resources are on hand to achieve the planned schedule. In this role, you will also work collaboratively with other departments involved in the production process.
What will you be doing?
- Lead, motivate, and develop the production team to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Drive and promote a world-class Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Champion the production function at management meetings, providing updates and recommendations relating to Health & Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.
- Generate, analyse, and present production performance data and KPI metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Take ownership of employee-related matters within the production function, working closely with HR to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Manage resources effectively to maximise productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and identify training and development needs to enhance individual and team performance.
- Lead and facilitate Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate production records are maintained and management reports are produced in a timely manner.
Who are You?
Ideally, you will have:
- relevant advanced qualification in manufacturing or operations or similar function;
- proven experience in a Production Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role;
- a solid understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice within a manufacturing environment;
- experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies;
- experience of managing employee-related matters and workforce development;
- strong analytical skills with experience interpreting KPI and production data;
- ongoing commitment to training and continuous professional development.

The Ashby site is situated close to the main motorway links and amenities; there is also free onsite parking.
