Who are we looking for?

The purpose of this position is the supporting of the commercial expansion of Alpha products into Power Electronics market in Asia, with Japan in focus by supporting the Laboratory functions in Hiratsuka, Japan. The main focus of this role is to support activities that focus around the assembly and testing of Power electronics components. Activities include, but not limited to running equipment and conducting customer builds as well as support internal development projects.

What will you be doing?

The candidate is expected to provide a degree of latitude to uptake new challenges as the market and technologies evolve rapidly. While experience in the field of electronics processing and FA is considered a strong asset, training will be provided as necessary to fulfil the expectations highlighted below:

Work closely with Laboratory co- workers on a daily basis and report to the Regional Director.
Be co-responsible daily running of the Laboratory in Hiratsuka, Japan.
Be responsible to maintain 5S on the laboratory so to operate safely, support periodic audit qualifications and be able to accommodate customer interactions.
Be responsible for running specific processing equipment in the Laboratory in Hiratsuka. These include P&P machines, Reflow ovens, Sinter presses, Printing systems amongst others.
Be capable to run specific test equipment in the Laboratory, including Environmental test chambers, Die Shear machines, Electrical probing amongst others.
Conduct periodical maintenance of Equipment-of-Responsibility, making sure that equipment is always in optimum working condition.
Be capable to support colleagues by preparing samples and running analytical equipment as needed.
Be able to take full ownership of a specific customer project and work on conception, implementation, and conclusion of electronic assembly projects.
Support sample build campaigns by designing, commission-for-build and use specialist tools for handling and processing.
Conduct failure mode analysis routines, identify defects and involved materials and provide improvement solutions.
Gather data through process and analytical equipment and be responsible to put into reports as requested.

Who are You?

To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job the incumbent of this position must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in a technical discipline and three years in the Semiconductor Assembly field. Knowledge of Computer Aided Design is necessary. Shown capacity of being to handle manual work, including basic machine assembly and disassembly for maintenance and modification is required. Advanced technical and/or engineering degree is preferred.

What competencies will you need?

To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, the candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Full fluence in English and Japanese are required.

The candidate must possess skills that allow him/her to prepare effective Design of Experiments and run statistical analysis.

The candidate must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The candidate must possess a Hazardous Materials Engineer License – as required by the Japan Fire Defense Law
