Job Purpose

The general purpose and responsibility of this position is as follows:

  1. Test and inspect solder through the various stages of the refining and manufacturing processes to insure products meet internal and/or customer specifications. Compliance to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, A2LA Specific Requirements, RoHS and Chemical Hygiene/Safe Operating Guidelines is required.
  2. Compile, evaluate and maintain statistical data to insure quality and reliability of products.
  3. Provide customer support and fast courteous service to maintain the Pot Rite and custom standards manufacturing business 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Testing and Inspection Duties:

  • Chemical Analysis of Samples
  • Physical Characterization of Samples
  • Compile, Evaluate and Maintain Data: report and distribute results, enter data into JDE, maintaining inspection records, coordinate necessary actions for nonconforming materials in various stages of manufacturing, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Requirements:
    • Sample storage and disposal
    • Assist supervisor or chemist during methods development and improvement by performing testing on alloys as directed.

Pot Rite Services and Spectrochemical Standards Manufacturing:

  • Quote customers on analysis programs and spectrochemical standards
  • Approve Sales orders for invoicing
  • Construct Pot Rite kit based on customer order requirements
  • Package and ship kit to customer(s)
  • Maintain customer orders in a monthly file
  • Enter orders into database
  • Log received samples against purchase orders to maintain status of individual programs
  • Evaluate individual analyses against historical data before reporting
  • Ensure analysis is compared to proper specification
  • Obtain purchase orders and approve sales orders for invoicing
  • Machine finish and champor individual samples
  • Assist in manufacturing and certifying custom standards as directed by laboratory supervisor

Education and/or Experience

The incumbent of this position must possess a BS degree from a four-year college or university in a scientific discipline, and two to three years related experience and/or training in a laboratory environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
