SEMICONDUCTOR & ASSEMBLY SOLUTIONS (SAS)

Job Purpose
The Lean Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting continuous improvement of our controls systems, lean projects, and initiatives in our MacDermid Alpha Altoona, PA location.
Job Responsibilities
- Support and develop the lean systems, focusing on Process/Production Control and continuous improvement. This involves monitoring the manufacturing operation process to identify deficiencies in the process with a goal to minimize or remove them.
- Developing updated controls systems using the latest technology such as PLCs/SCADA to improve efficiencies and reliability of production equipment and systems.
- Analyze manufacturing data using technology such Python/Excel and based on the observations develop and documents suggestions for improvements.
- Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, testing, and programming.
- Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Where necessary and appropriate, investigate, assist in evaluation and installation of 3rd party software solutions as part of continuous improvement efforts. If implemented train and support the end users in the operation of the software solutions.
- Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
- Develop systems consistent with Company standards to enable easy transfer of the systems to other Element Solutions vertical businesses. Support the transfer of systems and practices to all Element Solutions sites as needed. Develop clear output to support Company KPI’s.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must possess at a minimum a BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
- Must be able to travel occasionally.
- Experience working a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with programming languages, frameworks and tools, such as Python, AngularJS, C#, PHP, MSSQL, Git, PLC, AutoCAD, 3DCAD software experience preferred.
- Experience working with ERPs- JDE, SAP
- Solid computer proficiency- about 75% of time will be spent utilizing technology
- Software experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes preferred
- Strong ability to analyze information and problem solve
- Possess strong sense of teamwork, including leading teams
